The Systems Administrator is responsible to ensure the performance, integrity, and security of all Cree Nation Government server systems and network infrastructure. The Systems Administrator also collaborates to maintain and monitor the use of the network infrastructure and components.
Computer systems responsibilities:
Proactively manage systems performance and stability.
Respond to system related issues (troubleshoot).
Install and manage Windows servers, MS SQL instances, including both clustered and standalone instances, as well as test and install new O/S and application patches on existing installations.
Establish, manage and monitor various types of backup of servers and data centers.
Computer networking responsibilities:
Monitor networks to ensure availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance.
Perform day-to-day basic network administration such as troubleshooting issues.
Coordinate access and use of computer network as well as remote access for employees and third parties.
Provide recommendations concerning system design, infrastructure, and software as required.
Administration and reporting responsibilities:
Manage disaster recovery and business continuity schemes for critical CNG’s services.
Produce and maintain documentation, policies, and procedures.
Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
Provide technical guidance to other IT employees as required.
Education and Certification
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
MCSE, MCSA, MCDBA certifications required, Cisco CCNA/CCNP Certifications a plus
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator.
Language
Fluency in English.
Knowledge and Abilities
Good creative, troubleshooting, user support and creative troubleshooting skills
Experience with MS Windows 2018 server, Exchange 2018 server, SQL 2012 or later versions with SQL Server Reporting Services, Queries, SPs, SSIS, Replication (transactional and merge) etc.
Office 365
Veeam backup and replication experience
Virtualization technologies VMWare experience
Experience with HP 3PAR or other SAN systems
Additional Requirements
Willingness to travel frequently.
Must agree to undergo a criminal background check.
The Cree Nation Government may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the aforementioned requirements if a suitable candidate who is a JBNQA beneficiary accepts to follow a training plan determined by the Cree Nation Government as a condition of employment.
